Interspecies Internet: A More-Than-Human Network

Think of us like an art center... We don't create the art, but we curate it and create the space for people to experience and engage with it. The Interspecies Internet is a convening body for the field of AI x Animal Communication. We're not the ones in the lab decoding whale songs or training models. We're the ones bringing all those researchers and organizations together, helping them connect, and making their work accessible to the wider public, while enabling spaces for ideation and the creation of technical and ethical infrastructure. For the research community, we work as the plumbing, connecting people, helping advance collaboration, and platforming important research. For the wider public, we create programming like lectures and spaces for debate where people can actually engage with these ideas. We're connected to all the major players in this field: Earth Species Project, CETI Project, MOTH Project, FluentPet, Grizzly Systems, and many more! That gives us a unique perspective on what's emerging, what challenges everyone's facing, and where the field is heading. We're basically a hotspot for the most important conversations happening right now about AI, animal communication, and the ethical considerations that come with it. What we'd bring to Portugal Tech Week: a state-of-the-art look at this field and the role of Interspecies Internet, giving attendees an overview of the emerging topics in interspecies communication and the community shaping its future.
